Belgian media previously reported sightings of «drones» flying over Belgium’s military bases and Brussels airport. Belgian Defense Minister Th?o Francken suspected Russia of being behind these flights. However, after investigating these claims, the VRT television channel revealed that the so-called drones were actually police helicopters and a DHL cargo plane. Since October 10, Belgian authorities have repeatedly reported the presence of unidentified UAVs above military installations and critical infrastructure.

The Brussels International Airport temporarily halted flights several times—on November 4, 5, 6, and 13—due to drone-related alerts. Despite these interruptions, no suspects have been apprehended, nor has any drone been shot down.

On November 8, Defense Minister Th?o Francken pointed to Russia as a likely organizer of these drone flights, though he did not provide any concrete evidence.
